200E Ijnition wiring

Hi everyone this is my first using the service it seems I have a lot of
catching up to do as Im on my 12 th mercedes.
The problem is to set in a secondhand Ignition switch as key broke in
old one .
I need to know the wiring set up as I dont have a workshop manual
can anyone guide me

I hope you havnt just pulled the switch of the back? If you havnt yet. Then remove the whole ign lock mecninsm. You will have to grind out the locking pin. Then cut through the three screws which hold the ignition switch to the body. You will then be able to gain acess to the slot in the switch & turn it to number 1 postion. Hey presto you should be able to remove the wiring complete. No probs. A new ignition switch is about £14-15 from the dealers & order three new screws. You will need to replace the ign lock assembly complete & barrel as well.

Hi Andy

Thanks a million for your advise Im in Ireland and it cost me 120 Euro for
a new barrell insert from a local locksmith .I had no idea what the cost would
be as I didnt ask for a price.Is that excessive what do you think ?
