Hi, anybody got any ideas please. The fuse for HRW, rear wash wipe, stereo and cig lighter keeps blowing every time the ignition is turned on. Have disconnected wires at units, so am assuming it is a loom problem. The car is a 1989/90model estate 2litre 4 cyl petrol. Any help appreciated. Thanx.

I'd hazard a guess that it's a short on the live feed to the tailgate. The wires fracture & break where they pass through a rubber tube next to the offside tailgate hinge. To fix them cut each wire in turn on one side of the tube & pull a new section through before rejoining. Do each wire in turn

You'll find the same problem can afflict door window motor feeds as the cars get older

Thanx for that Bolide. I had a suspicion about this, but envisaged gutting out the car to access the loom. I will check this out and let you know.
