there are no "shockers" on the back of a 200TE only nitrogen spheres and hydraulic struts - definitely not shocks

the seats should fold once the back doors are opened but if they don't then you have to "get physical" with them - the lower clip on the mechanism can get stuck fixing the seats in place.

Are the struts leaking? if not there is no need to change them the more likely failure on the self levelling system is the spheres.

When you open the rear doors make sure the release has pushed itself out. Its a little pin with a black round read on it about the sixe of a 5p piece.

( thought id add that as mine was a toad before I lubed it. )

it was the hydralic struts.one had actually snapped off thanks for the info it was very helpful

there is a knack to changing the struts, connect the flexi hose first - before you refit the strut otherwise they are a real pain to tighten up.
