Hi all I am a new member only being a Mercedes owner for a few months I love my C250 sport. i am looking for some advise on remapping and egr delete also a swirl flap delete. Is this possible? I have heard the dpf uses the egr for the regeneration of the dpf not sure if thats true and advise and pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated Kerry

My advice would be go for the remap but leave alone the other components. Dpfs get a bad rep but if driven properly then there shouldn't be any issues. It might be better looking for a more powerful motor. :D

My biggest issue is not so much the power increase it’s the delete of the egr and the mess and problems they cause

I got my EGR deleted and a remap last winter on my OM651 as EGR was throwing fault codes occasionally. I just done a DPF clean last month as it was last on the list of things to do and i drove it with the i980 hooked up for last few weeks but with lockdown took long time to reach regen point. So yesterday on a long run it hit 100% full at 330 miles and it was nice to see the i980 counting the miles and soot deposit back down to zero during the regen. At least i can confirm the remap and EGR delete doesnt affect how the DPF regen does its cycle

My E350 was remapped by @Acid@MSL last year and we left the EGR/DPF’s in place, there is no benefit to having them deleted out if the car is used as it was designed to.

Thanks guys like I said knowing the problems the egr causes with soot build up in intake manifolds and causing problems with the swirl flaps I would rather have it deleted I just wasn’t sure if the dpf would regenerate properly without it but looking like Kev has answered my question just had a code flip up relating to manifold swirl flap put some cleaners into the fuel system and it’s seemed to solve that problem for now but with the egr out of the system they don’t have the carbon build up of when it’s working in the system

I will be looking into doing the same.. Not going thru the blocked inlet dramas/costs of a cxxp design.

  • Most are + £100 on top of a Stage 1 software .

But there are a select few that just consider software as software and don't charge the extra.

I got van remapped from 136 to 200BHP and free EGR delete for £160 on a black friday deal, normally £180. I considered it a bargain. The guy is a franchise for Hex-portal lately, not sure if that is who supplied my map?. I had to wait on an online que that morning as each map is tweeked by a guy on the other end to customers requirements so probably slightly better than a generic map. Guy done the map is an independent doing specialist exhausts, diagnostics, service work etc

Had a quote of £150 for a stage 1 map and a egr delete by a local independent just want to be sure that the dpf works as normal without the egr Kev your Regen worked fine with no egr ?

Yes kerryG, Its only the first regen i have kept track of but i cant see any issues if first one worked ok . I did drop it into 4th gear to keep engine revs up between 2000-2500 to make sure it went into regen once DPF reached 100% full. Thats the only thing i done from normal driving to manipulate it. Next time i will drive normally to see how it behaves. I did notice stopping briefly at a road end did not stop the regen surprisingly as it continued when i took off again

Can you say where you had this done? And let us know that you continue to have no problems as a result of the delete.

That’s a hell of an increase for just a remap +/- 50%.

I thought that the OM651 engine in 250 mode which has 204Bhp, didn't respond well to remaps.

It responds , just that it doesn't have 204 to begin with .
