2010 E250 roof not working

Hi all hope all is well and safe. I'm new to the forum just need some help with my E250 convertible roof not working. I bought the car recently knowing the roof doesn't work when you pull the switch it say boot separator not closed.

I've pushed the boot separator back and forward but the message still comes up.

Any help would be appreciated

Hello and welcome

Check that the micro switch is working in the catch of the boot separator. It is possible (and quite easy at times) to close the separator but not get the micro switch to close

I have some pics somewhere of my SLK switch.
Open the boot separator and have a look in the left and right receivers (the bits the separator closes into). One of them will have a plastic lever that presses down onto a micro switch when the separator is correctly closed.
You should be able to press it down with your finger and hear a “click” as the micro switch operates.

So I've found the separator micro switch but there is no click sound its as if the separator isn't sitting on the switch properly
