Can you not just get an iPod to 3.5 Jack cable and plug it in? I’m not saying it will work, just asking the question! Something like this?

Alternatively, the people to ask are ComandOnline:

They can also advise on changing the head unit to Comand which includes SatNav but it’s very expensive and far from a simple plug and play:

the ipod connector you linked is a female type that goes onto of a docking station and the the 3.5mm jack goes into any other brand of player.

i only have a jack socket so i could plug my ipod into it like using headphones but wouldn’t be able to control it or charge it.

I’ll give command online a ring tommorow

I’m about to take ownership of an E350 CDI coupe with the same setup. Thinking the Echo Auto may be the simplest solution...

I have a 2011 E350CDI which has a multipin connector on the right side of the glove box. It should come with 3 cables, a iPhone, a USB for memory sticks, & a third for 3.5mm jacks. I run my iPhone from there on long runs, the rest of the time I have my iPod connected to it.

Any details?
Bought a Bluetooth adapter from fleebay, I did buy a half decent one as the sound quality was better. It plugs into the aux in the glove box then wired the USB under the trim to the 12v plug. Saves you having to charge it up :p

That’s the initial fix. Gone for one that takes a micro SD card as well. I might just keep a power bank in there with it.

I did that on our old 2010 SLK with a 3.5mm jack & audio 20. I seem to remember from the audio 20 controls you could only stop & start the music on the iPhone. But this was about 8 years ago & I am sure technology has move on a bit.

Sadly not. And I can’t find a source level adjustment, as the sound via the aux is very low volume compared to the radio.

I had no problem with audio level from the aux input, try changing the cable.

This is from a Bluetooth adaptor that plugs directly into the aux socket.
