Hi all
I have a problem with my 2012 Vito 113 CDI with the OM651 engine. I’ve owned the van 4 years without any issue but the last few weeks it has developed an intermittent fault. Occasionally it will start smoking on acceleration, but only a small puff of black smoke between idle and 1500rpm or so. As the revs increase the exhaust returns to clear. When this fault is present it also feels different to drive. With massive flats spots at the beginning of the torque band and a reduction in power. There are no warning lights present.
As mentioned it is intermittent. It could be like that in the morning on the way to work then totally fine on the way home in the evening.
If anyone has had a similar experience and can share their thoughts I’d be grateful.
