2013 GL550 Wont Shift out of Park

This is my first time posting on a board like this so here goes. I have replaced the main battery, the aux battery, transmission pm, tested every fuse and relay, it seems to be electrical, when this occurs it faults out several items including the entire shifter mechanism, cruise lever, turn signal lever, distronic and a few others. The scanner shows several codes when this occurs. It was intermittent and you could turn the car off and back on several times and it would go away like it never happened. I am now looking at the shifting mechanism and clock spring area. I feel it has to be this component or the DSM. Any ideas?

Do you have a good MB independent specialist in Salt Lake? Rather than throwing parts and money at the problem, I'd be getting a Star diagnosis at an indie. Otherwise post the codes you got on here and someone familiar with the GL might be able to point you in the right direction.

Just a though. Have u checked if brake light switch is faulty/involved is it a key or push button start. Just wondering if normally u must have foot on brake before u can shift out of park?

Clean the earth connection points.

On my old Mustang this same issue was caused by a broken brake lamp wire in the harness.

Thanks for the response everyone, it is a push button start with no key entry point. I am shopping around for an indie shop in SLC, I am somewhat savvy I just do not have access to the software/tools that a licensed individual or dealer would. When this occurs it isn't just the inability to shift from park but the entire shifter column is inoperable, turn signal lever, steering adjustment and periscope, the entire assembly, so this is what I ordered. Finger's crossed this resolves the issue. My thoughts were if it was the Brake light switch these other items (Levers) would still work it just wouldn't shift out of gear. The same logic for the DSM on the side of the transmission, But definitely could be wrong on that. It doesn't throw ABS faults when this occurs, It does throw several faults when it occurs like 15, I am assuming it is everything on the circuit.

Total pain in wallet to resolve and cause note you made it past design life
