Hi, I have a 2013 w212 220cdi auto, I have been getting problems with the auto gear changes, they are getting quite sluggish and on occasion the kickback isn't working properly and giving any power. Has anyone experienced the same or have any ideas?

Thanks

Has the gearbox ever had the atf changed?

Not that I am aware of, I've only had the car 12 months. It has had a recent major service though. Would there not be a warning on the dash if the atf was low?

Thanks

No warning.

ATF should be changed every ~37.5K in 7G box - how many miles on the car?

Its got 74,500 at the minute so that makes sense what you are suggesting! I will get this checked and changed and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the advice

Worth adding your location your profile. We’ve some exceptional Mercedes Indies around that can service and fix issues much faster and cheaper than many other garages as they have the experience and knowledge

My car which is the same age started holding on to gears intermittently.

turned out to be an intake pressure sensor, was putting the car into limp mode without showing any dash lights

A scanner picked it up, changed and no problems since

I also noticed that downshifts were more noticeable (harsh) when it was in limp mode.. Eventually mine did throw an engine management light which forced me to get it checked, up untill then i was wondering of i was imagining things as it wasn't that obvious
