2014 E220 CD Electrical issue

Hi Guys, nice to be here. I have a 2014 E220 CDI. I parked it down yesterday evening and today morning there is no electic in there. The central lock is working and the indicators are flashing up when open and close; the display is coming up behind the steering wheel and all interior lights are on but when I turn the key nothing happens. BUT when I remove the positive terminal and turn the key and put back the terminal all lights are on on the dashboard, however it won't start and steering lock is on.

Any idea what is this???

Looks as it could be the the dreaded electric steering lock. Is there any click when you put the key in?

Next time you put the key in release the steering column adjuster and wham it up and down. It may release the motor.

Dead ignition

Just put key into ignition, and nothing! No “click” when the car recognises they key, and when key is turned nothing at all. Battery ok, car locks and unlocks on the key. I suspect the EIS unit, but not sure what else it could be. Any ideas anyone?

test your battery first.
We have all done it batteries in tv remotes for eg, remote dont work, tale batteries out, put back in, change channel, remote dead again.
