Apologies if this has been questioned before, haven't the time to dig through the archive
I'm needing some new rear pads on the E Class, GSF and Euro's have a pretty decent sale on and good branded pads can be bought for half price or even more.
I bought some branded (Though not Mercedes) front pads earlier this year, once fitted I noticed a knocking on the front end - not considering the pads to be an issue I dropped it in to the dealers as it was under warranty and they explained I must fit Mercedes pads - Sceptical, I did this anyway and away went the knocking despite them seemingly looking identical. The fella at Mercedes said the pads would be safe and fully functional, just irritating to listen to more than anything.
Would anyone know if this would be the case with the rears? Wouldn't want to go through the effort of buying and fitting something none OEM if they're only going to need replacing immediately.
Thanks!
