Recently bought a 2017 W213 with the Comand System, but I'm m now in quarantine outside the UK and not expecting to be back until June.
Mercedes just informed me the Mercedes Me services were about to expire so I've renewed them online. As I'm not in the UK I've not yet activated these services.
My question is can I activate them myself or does I a dealer to activate?
As I'm stuck in quarantine I thought I may as well learn as much about the car as I can before getting back to the UK.

if you've paid the money then the renewal is automatic, you'll see in your mercedes me app that the functionality returns (from when it was expired...) at least that's how it's worked for me and i just renewed some services recently.

As above, renewal should be automatic but, as the car is new to you, you may find that the security items (like remote lock and unlock) need to be activated by a dealer when you visit with I/d and your vehicle registration. I seem to recall that this can also be done by a website video link to Mercedes but I can find any reference to that at the moment,

Thanks for the responses, sounds like the renewal will be automatic, but I've yet to activate my Mercedes Me with the car. Is that something I can do or do I need to visit a MB dealership?

to activate mercedes me with the car (assuming it was activated with a previous owner) i had to visit the dealer, why don't you give them a call first to check your options ?

If you’ve been able to renew the services, it sounds as if you are registered and the car should update automatically as long as it can get the mobile signal (so not in an underground car park, for example). You may still need to see a dealer to get the security related services activated as the new owner.

Your Mercedes Me portal will show you the status of each service.
