Hi all,

I’m looking for some advice as I have extremely limited knowledge on engines and faults.
I have a 2018 A-Class with about 18000 miles. A few months ago my car started to judder and stall when at low speeds. Some judder at higher speeds and very bad fuel economy. I managed to get it home and had no trouble for a few weeks. It had been In for a service and MOT with no issues. The week later I broke down on the m80 due to the juddering and stalling. After leaving the car a while I managed to drive it home with some struggle. The next day, and since then I’ve had no problems. I took it to Arnold Clark within that time and they checked it and told me it was a problem with the crankshaft sensor. They changed the sensor but I’ve had another engine warning light on with the same error again. They are now telling me it could be a wiring problem and in need to go to a specialist. Something to do with a correlation fault, which I assume is to do with the crankshaft/camshaft.
The engine warning lights eventually turn themselves off and seemed to turn back on every time I got it back from Arnold Clark.

Has anyone experienced a problem like this ?

Thank you

If you say what part of the world you live in .... somewhere in Scotland I assume .... I'm sure that someone will be able to recommend a Mercedes independent where you can take your car. From what I've read over the years, Arnold Clark is the very last place I'd want to take a car.

Yeah im from Scotland. Just outside Glasgow. I only went to Arnold Clark as they offered to change the sensor for free, and where I got my MoT and service done due to having another year on the service plan they gave me. Otherwise I agree. Id never take it there otherwise.
