Guys...advice required...
My W213 2018 has beige leather (faux) trim + wood effect trim on each door - due to accidental damage to the rear door trims x 2 I purchased 2 x used door card - BUT I need to swop over my wood-effect door trim and the beige leather trim ....as the replacement door cards have non-leather trim and base non-wood trim.
The wood trim will swop over as there are removable screws etc ...BUT the beige leather trim seems to be permanently fixed/attached to the door card by non-opening or removable plastic plugs ..... so as removal is a dangerous job unless you are good at plastic welding.
Has anybody encountered this problem ....and any best solutions?? ( I cannot source a suitable beige leather trimmed door card......)

Welcome to the forum.

I'd be looking for a leather trimmer to see if they would undertake the swap over.
Sounds a bit of a risky DIY.

Hello and welcome

Please post some pictures up. I’d be tempted to do a bit of plastic welding

I’d be tempted to heat/melt them with a soldering iron

Looks a beech of a job if so much plastic welding is needed.
Did you look at the IPL online to see how the door card inners are attached.
As a side, I recently had a door card off on my W220. ****** well put together they are by Merc.

Ive had the handles removed on mine to stop the squeaking/groaning when you touch them. the screws really can be any of the coarse threaded ones as i ran out so needed to use some others they arnt cheap tho. if you can find them from another source let me know as i need more and ive been waiting about 8 months for mercedes to get them in (honesty i think thy have forgotten)

Thanks Grumblepuss - will investigate and pursue! Sounds good - did you drill/melt/burn or otherwise remove the original plastic weld before you inserted and fitted the Torx screw ?

I hacked them off with an o-ring pick and a knife as some were harder to get at. All you do is slice the top bit off :) they really do come off easily
Ps the wood bit is a pain to remove as you need to pull both sides of the clips apart to get the tabs out I ended up bending a bunch doing it but they bent back but I did also buy some more
Honestly while they are apart I'd put some lube on the bits of plastic that rub and touch other bits to stop the noises that they make

Forgot to post the final update to above issue - forgive the bad manners!

Took Grumblepuss's advice .... showed posts to my MB guy ....and a combination of careful removal...plastic welding...and the Torx screws did the job!

Thanks to Grumblepuss and all other forum members for advice and tips.....
