As per thread title, I can't get into my boot at all. It won't open on the fob boot release button or the door boot release button and as it's the coupe, Merc thought in their wisdom not to include a physical way of putting a key in as per the saloon version. Am I missing something? It sounds like a relay is whirring away in the boot when I press the fob or use the button but just won't unlock. I'm not worried about taking things to pieces but could do with some guidance if it's a simple fix…thanks in advance.

Not sure if it is relevant but there was a warranty issue on the boot hinges on this model. Not a recall AFAIK but MB made no argument on replacing a hinge on my wife's 2018 E300 coupe. The o/s hinge was making horrible noises. If one has jammed up completely, it could impede opening?

Hi Monday, thankyou for the response, unfortunately not the issue I'm having, iv stripped the plastics away to reveal the locking mechanism and there is a manual lever that works just fine ( boot opens immediately manually), its a power issue, no power is being supplied to the unit via any of the methods (key, handle or switch in door panel ). iv checked fuses and relays with no avail, I'm thinking maybe a SAM module although I cant acquire any electrical drawings so I'm not sure where next to look. Here is a picture of the mechanism which is missing power, the manual lever can be seen on the right hand side of the mechanism

No worries, it was just a thought. I no longer have the car so can't help further.
