My battery was getting pretty warn out. The car was starting slow and then start/stop didn’t restart the car at a red light once and then that became a regular occurrence and I had to keep toggling the start/stop before driving. It would make about half a turn on the starter and then fall silent. It needed to be put into park, turned off, and back on again.
I had both the main battery and aux battery replaced. This fixed the car not restarting at lights when start/stop was active.
Now the vehicle is still having intermittent starting issues with similar symptoms as above. I’ve taken it back to my mechanic and they’re not able to find anything unusual.
It’s inconsistent and very difficult to replicate but seems that when you drive the car, turn off the engine and wait some time without opening the door and hit the starter button. Sometimes it happens just when the vehicle sits a short time between trips. Totally at a loss.
