202 C Class lower ball joint swap out

I need to swap out the lower ball joints on my 202 C Class, last weekend I had the wheel off to suss out what was involved and the way the ball joint is bolted on seems to me as though other bits need to be removed to actually get if off, just undoing the two nuts would free it, but it appears that I wouldn’t be able to physically remove it without taking other things off.

I’ve had a scan though the forum and can’t find a definite answer – could anybody clarify what’s involved in doing this particular job.

Brandwooddixon did a great post with pics for ball joints and track rod ends for the W 210. Search under 'track rod'.
See if its anything similar. Sorry don't know whether 202 is same on not.

Watch out for the suspension spring, it must be restrained to prevent injury.

Maybe time for a pair of spring clamps? Wish I'd bought some years ago!
