I get quiet a lot of road/type noise above 60 - I suspect a lot is related to the tyres (Khumo) although they don't get bad reviews for noise. When it's time for new tryes I'll llok at reviews carefully - and suspect I'll end up with some Michellins.
The difference between some sections of motorway very significant, there is a nice section on the M4 between 17 and 18 where everything goes really quiet (so it is just road/tyre noise), yet other sections are quite noisy at times. Most of the most seems to come from the rear and subjectively I'd say it's quieter with a full boot (difficult to a side by side test).
Anyone else noticed this - done anything about it?
Noticed that the boot "carpet" pannels are only loosely plonked over the wheel arches and there is no attempt at deadening the "outside" half of the arch in the boot. So though that might be a starting point for some improved sound proofing. Suggestions?
