2021 E220d Touring sport parking brake not releasing

Parked my E220d and when I returned to the car park the electronic parking brake refused to release.Tried everything from the parking release button, turning on off the car, parking sensors and was ready to call the tow truck when suddenly it released and is now working as normal. Any ideas why this happened ?

Me -2019 GLC 350 coupe AMG line. Mrs- 1.2 vauxhall Corsa 2021 ,orange with a black roof. .
Did it release but the pads were stuck to the discs , I wonder . ??

The dash warning light was on so I don't think the system released the brake, thanks for your response
