203 (2001) ignition problem

Can anyone help? I arrived home from work, switched off the engine, locked the car - no problems. Thirty mins later, jump in the car to go shopping and the ignition accepts the key but refuses to turn or give ignition lights.
The car has already had a replacement alarm loom and several other electrical jobs, and is now starting to cost more in repairs than it cost when purchased.
Can someone PLEASE help.
