209 02' CLK320 Odd noise from Command/Vent area

Hi there, Ive noticed a dull thud noise coming from within the dash board in the area behind the command / below the central speaker
and AC vents in the middle of my dashboard.

its very intermittent and is definately not a rattle. It sounds like something
mechanical - very odd.. any ideas? Sorry if it sounds like a bit of a riddle...

The only thing there is the flap controls, the Comand has a fan and that is all. This is what sits behind the dash

Thanks for that. I popped into my indi today and he thinks its one of the motors in the vent system?!?!?! nothing serious apparently - it only lasts for a few minutes when I first start driving....
Its hilarious, I grew up with my dad always listening for noises in all his mercs and ive turned into the same person

Yes could well be a flap motor, as the 209 is built on the same components as a 203 I wonder if the re set would work, if not they can be set on STAR.
