Sprinter 210CDI 2013 Auto
Hi all,

Many thanks for accepting me on here. I have just bought a 2013 210 CDI Auto. I did not notice this before but I took it on the highway yesterday and it is not shifting into 5th gear. It is staying in 4th with over 3000 revs. I tried to change up using the auto gearshift and that will not change up or down. Is it likely to be a sensor issue?

When stationary and key in first position in ignition I can see gear display on screen if I drop down or up using auto lever/gearknob but it only shows up to 4th gear, it shows on the display. Whilst driving I cannot do this, it just shows D on the display.

I do know that on a manual gearbox it happens when there is not enough gearbox oil.

Trans speed sensor? Or shift solenoid wud be my best guess. Either should show up on diagnostics test something like icarsoft mb v2 or 3 or u go dealer or indie for test. If ur keeping motor I strongly suggest the first option
If you don't the dealers will collect around 180 from you and maybe install a load of unrequested updates to help empty your wallet later.

Thanks for the replies so far, did you mean to say second option, as in independent?

Unlikely to be an hydraulic fault as 1st and 5th share most of the same clutches and brakes and the ones they don't share are used for others.
