All,
I feel a bit daft not realising, but if I fell for it, so could others I guess.

On the 210, the mirrors would try to fold in, move a bit, get part way in then run out of steam. Obvious fault so a bit of work and lubrication would generally bring them back to life. I put this down to lack of use.

Hence I activated the auto fold option on my 211 to avoid such issues. They were working fine, until one day, I locked the car and the passenger's mirror just didn't move, at all. No noise, no click, no slowdown, no movement, nothing. As it wasn't even trying, I put this down to an electrical fault and planned to book it in.

Anyway, my dad had the exact same thing on his 211, but, without the slowdown experience of the 210 to put him off, he gave his a helping hand and hey presto - it worked. So, I tried it on mine, locked the doors and put a bit of pressure on the mirror and in it came.

So, when the 211 mirrors jam, there is no warning, they don't struggle for a bit first, getting slower every time, they just stop moving. Nothing that a bit of effort and spray lubricant can't solve though.

An ideal lubricant is Slick20 a silicon and teflon spray, the boot joints were all very stiff on my new toy, it now shuts with ease, it does not harm or leave stains on the paint and does not dry.
