I have decided to replace the main battery in my 2014 E350 bluetec.
Mercedes part number is A0009822108
Local main dealer wants £220 plus vat so I looked online.
Most places recommend a 017 or 019 AGM battery but these are 353mm long whilst the one in the car is about 315mm.
After some Googling using the Mercedes part number I have found that a 115 agm battery matches the dimensions of what I have :
  • Dimensions (L x W x H): 317mm x 175mm x 190mm

anyone know if a 115 AGM is correct as I am a bit confused as to why my Mercedes battery is a different size to that listed by all the battery suppliers I have tried.

Have a look at this one https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteri...MIwdC2pJeK7gIVCuDtCh1r8A46EAQYASABEgJ9_fD_BwE

Confirm the AH ratings dims and post orientations to the original?

Take the Part # of your battery into a Mercedes commercial parts dept' for a quote.
It will be far cheaper than the car main dealer.

A follow up question:
I understand that unlike BMW there is no need for any coding to be done to tell the car that a new battery has been fitted, is this correct?

Correct. No coding required.
The windows/sunroof may need re-setting.

Thanks. I will probably hook up a spare battery to the car to keep it powered during the swap.

In case someone reads this in the future. The 115AGM battery was identical to the A0009822108 battery.
10 minutes to swap using only a 10mm spanner and a 13mm socket on an extension.
I kept power to the car by connecting a spare battery to the under bonnet jump start point.

For clarification the 115 refers to a UK battery code and the battery is rated at 80 AH 800 CCA is this correct?

Yes, which is the same rating as the original MB (Varta) battery. Physical dimensions are identical.
