216 Front suspension rubber split

So the protective rubber cover around the front LH suspension strut of my 2012 CL500 216 has perished and split.
Beneath the cover everything is fine, but I would dearly like to rectify it some how?
Is there any "split" covers on the market that can be wrapped arouynd then bonded together, rather than removing the complete strut to replace the cover?

Will, you can buy split covers on eBay, seem to remember a post recently but they are quite ineffective and not fully tight I believe
