Hi all, newb’ here.

Ive an issue where the gearbox selector is refusing gear change whilst stationary. (P / D / N / R etc) The D light on the dash blocks out white and whilst it resets on restart it feels like it’s pulling away in 2nd and come the time to reverse it doesn’t want to know and the D (drive) light goes white again. Is this some kind of limp mode and I have a major fault? No EM lights on by the way ‍♂️

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Either the selector module itself is failing, or the electroplate.

Does it every change out of second gear? If yes, then selector module is most likely.

Once moving it ‘seemed’ ok - I was near home and so I only did 3 miles before parking. I had a ‘stuck in one gear’ symptom after pulling away from stationary 10 miles prior but having pulled over and restarted it was fine. Then 20 mins later, whilst stopping to reverse onto my drive, it wouldnt engage reverse, clunked back into drive ONLY so with a powerless pull away (like a 2nd even 3rd gear) I drove around the block and turned it off once in the reverse position across my drive the 2nd time and it banged into reverse but the minute I stopped, it wouldnt go into park or neutral without an unhealthy jult and that’s when D box on dash whites out and the C and S (drive mode) box goes blank. Turn off, restart, dash lights all normal and the moment I stop again to reverse, the cycle begins again

Could be either with those symptoms, needs a code read to confirm. Most likely selector module

I’ve a cheap code reader which I’ll plug in tomorrow morning. Genuinely appreciate your time on this guys - seems like a decent forum
