Problem with central locking not resolved after lubrication. The lock, not me.

Suspect something is fouling. Central locking works OK but on opening tries to unlock then shuts down. The window also catches on something as it closes. If the rear window is anything to go by I suspect the anti drumming pad has come unstuck.

So, how to remove the door panel? Much reading suggests removing plastic door release cover, undoing 10/12mm bolt, disconnecting cable, unscrewing everything in sight and prising off the trangular mirror mech cover.

This is gleaned from a number of posts but not specifcally the 93 124 220ce coupe. Before I go blundering in are there any wise ones who could lend a word of advice or caution?

Many thanks

Mike

Undo all the bits you have mentioned the lift the door card from the frame. Please don't pull it as you will break the latches that hold the card to the door. The window seal to door rubber is hard to remove and may stop you from achieving the desired result. Also don't forget to remove the chrome plate on the back side of the door.

Thanks Ian.

Am I right in thinking that the latches are at the bottom of the door and the door card has to be eased upwards and not away from the door? Do the door rubber and window seal need to be removed first?
