220DCi Speed limiter

If I use the speed limiter and go down a hill the engine will drop down to a lower gear to slow the car down.

When I get to the bottom and continue along on the level the car is reluctant to change up again for quite some time.

Is this normal? It is really annoying

I have an E320 CDI and it does the same. I would guess the software for the gearbox puts the delay in in case it's only a short-term levelling out so as to save jumping up and down the gears too much. I agree it is a bit annoying, but it only waits about 5 seconds before it changes up again.
