i have an 230ce 1985 which just about passed the mot on the emisions.

is there any way to lower the emisions, adjust replace etc.

it has been ok for the las three years and i onley do about 800 miles a year.

I have been told that it is always a good idea to take the car for an "Italian tune-up" the morning before you drop it off for its MOT. A good long hard blast, plenty of low gear revs and full throttle to blow out all the rubbish and get the engine thoroughly hot. Could well make a difference in a marginal emissions case.

On the classic range rovers I used to spray water into the air inlet using a house plant sprayer, hold the rpm at 2k and spray like mad.
