Hi, my 2000 230 CLK has been in the driveway unused for about 3 months now. The battery was dead, so I have fitted a new battery and all electrics seem ok, but car will not turn over. When key fob is inserted "control on" click is present. Ignition tumbler feels sticky. When turning key to auto start it sticks in position. Interior was slightly damp because I have found that the window seal is letting in water. What is the most likely problem for it not to be starting?

If it has not been started for a long time then the chances are its the starter sticking, in a garage to check the starter we give it a tap which would usually chase it to throw in. if it is clicking then its prob the starter.

if it clicks but dont turn then definatly the starter motor and i think W208's you cannot easily see the motor either.

I would get mechanic to take a look.
