230 TE Sunroof

Can anyone give some advice on the following i have just purchased a 1990 230TE and the sunroof jamms when tilted up fully and needs a little tweat of the manual closer on the motor to free it. All other operations slide open/shut work fine. Its only when tilted it jamms any ideas its driving me potty.

Have you tried adjusting the clutch slightly on the motor?

I would check the roof lifters as well. More than likely worn out & require replacment.

Adjusting sunroof clutch

The plastic nut that you turn to wind the sunroof manually, is just a cap which can be flicked off. Underneath it is a normal 17mm nut.

Tightening that nut tightens the clutch. Only tighten it a bit at a time then try it.
