hey there, im restoring a 1984 230E currently and i have just replaced the suspension bushes, track rod ends and parts of the steering linkage that were worn, yet there is still a fairly large amount of play within the steering (from center the wheel will turn to around 2 ocklock before wheel resistance is met) i have the feeling it is the steering box that is at fault and ive heard this is a common problem with this car, is there any way the steering box can be overhauled? or is it easyer to just simply replace the steering box? (there is no engine in the car currently which makes me think i have to replace the steering box i should do it now as it could get fiddly) if it has to be replaced what kinds of prices am i looking at for a replacement? any help would be great.

cheers, craig
