230te 1987. cam shaft pump ???

can anybody tell me what the pump, that is driven by the cam shaft, works. i think mine is sucking in engine oil. please help.

On my Rover V8, the cam drove the oil pump. Dunno about yours though.

Your water pump is belt driven, the only thing driven by camshafts is the oil pump that should have oil in it, and the distributor drive

if it's the pump at the very end of the cam you are referring to it's the self levelling suspension pump

Does it click? I have seen one, which clicked annoyingly. But it was only the pump in the end.
