Thinking of buying a Estate Merc and I test drove a 1991 230TE Auto with 120K miles, a very good example with all the service stamps.
When I drove the car on a long stretch as I increased the engine revs to 2000rpm and above I could feel a slight (rumble) vibration on the accelrator and also along the bottom of my drivers seat. Otherwise the car pulled very well without any hesitation. And no other noise could be heard from anywhere. The oil pressure gauge was always at maximum too.
Just was wondering what this vibration was stemming from, could it be the exaust, engine mountings, propellor shaft.
Has anyone come across this kind of vibration.
Cheers,
Mike
