Hello All -

Investigation of wet carpets after heavy rain led me to the front bottom corner of one of the rear side windows on my 230TE, where there appears to be a leak.

A search on here suggested this is quite a common problem, but I didn't find any threads that indicated what I should do about it.

Has anyone experienced this, and got it sorted? If so, can you remember roughly how much it cost?

The rubber seal on the leaking side is not as far recessed under the fairing that surrounds the window as the one on the other side, so I suspect that is the culprit - but is reseating it a window-out job?

Your opinion/advice, as ever, welcome!

Cheers

Alan

On my 123, its quite an easy job, didnt have to remove windows or anything. And if i remember correclty the rubber trims were only about £20 each.

Leak

On my W124 estate I had water in the drivers side compartment in the rear. I thought it was a leaking window. It wasn't. It was the water pipe for the rear washer! It had come loose.

It was running down behind the plastic trim panels. As I only really use the rear washer when it rains to help clear the screen I thought it was a rain leak!

Worth looking at before taking windows out or replacing seals.
