Robin,

There is no fuse on the fuel pump relay - there is a red pin-type 10A fuse on the Over Voltage Protection relay. This is situated behind the battery - on the passenger side, behind a black plastic cover. It is silver, with a read top - unclip the plastic cover and check the fuse.

However, if the fuse was blown, you'd have serious cold start problems and the car would only really run rough for the first 5 mins or so of the warm up process.

You may have a clogged injector, causing the rough idle/cruise and causing the hard starting when warm. Cold starting will not be a problem with one bad injector, as the Cold start injector compensates.

How rough is the car when cold starting ?

Hi Robin

Check the temperature sender still has the wire connected to it (black push on con.) mine came adrift while I was driving, still ran though, really rough, tons of black smoke then wouldn't restart.... made a temporary repair and it started instantly (one day I will fix it properly!!)

It certainly would give the symptoms you are describing.
