Original topic posted last week wrt my 230TE running excessively hot. Brief update, if anybody is interested or has had similar problems.
I replaced the thermostat and the fan switch. The fan now cuts in at just over 100 (according to the temp gauge). I guess that the thermostat was OK but the fan switch was definitely faulty.
