230TE S/E switch on auto box

Can anyone tell me what this swith is supposed to do and how to tell if it working, i guess its sports/economy but not sure if its working correctly.

hi there

i'm in hampshire as well, just outside andover.

it means standard and economy - not sport as is most often quoted !

when you drive in standard mode and slam your foot down you will move off in 1st gear and push the revs higher between gears.

when you drive in economy mode you will always move off in 2nd gear and change up gear at 500rpm lower than standard mode. the exception to this is when you kick down, then you will temporarily swith to 's' mode.
