On recently bought car, I found the tachometer not reading and the car jerking on gearchange. Manual cars are fitted with ARA control unit fed by flywheel pick-off and engine temperature. ARA feeds back to injection pump and tachometer. I fitted new flywheel pickoff - no change. Fitted 2nd hand ARA control unit (same part number but labelled RO1 not RO2 as original). Jerking seems OK now and tacho has come to life but it reads 6000 revs at all times after engine start. Any ideas please?
