Hi all.
I'm about to take my old workhorse of a 1989 250td on a 2000 mile round trip to see me folks for the festive...
I've changed the engine oil+filter, air filter, and anti-freeze (going north!)
Now I want to change the diff + gearbox oil, but the manual I bought from ebay (where did we used to shop?) hasn't arrived yet so I've no data to refer to.
Can anyone tell me the recommended viscosities and capacities?
Thanks, Steve

Hi steve .There was a similar post yesterday answered by Malcolm or Hawk. You might want to wait till one of those members comes on board or try tracing through their recent threads.Maybe you could google it or get onto Castrols site and see what they recommend. Also yesterday I answered a post dealing with a member with a similar problem, although i dealt with how to get the oil into the diff and gearbox. You will need one or two plastic containers which can be purchased from most auto suppliers. Pour the oil into these containers and use the pump action to get the oil into the gear box and the diff.Otherwise you will make a terrible mess and end up looking like the monster from the tar pits.
