pls help.
my 1988 260e starts up then splutters and dies when the alternator wires are connected.
the only way to start and drive the car is to start it with all the lights and electricals on.
another way is to unplug the alternator wires then it starts up and drive fine.
had the alternator bench tested and it appears in working order.
i'm open to any suggestions.
