270 cdi engine sudden cut out

C270 cdi engine mine is in sprinter, going up steep hiil on bend a road, and suddenly with a shudder cut out, right in the most awkward spot, checked under the bonnet, no leaks clean fuel filter. After checking started up like nothing was wrong , nor could I find anything !
A tad disconcerning that, has anyone experienced the same ???

yup - a few times in my old ML270. Dealers fixed easily. Company car so don't know the details I'm afraid. But mine was happening flat out (for an ML270..) as if ECU thought that numbers didn't go that high.

Happened on an E250 D - turned out to be an immobilser fault which cut off ... fault in the same way as if I had switched off the ignition - local independant disconnected the immobiliser for a few days, the fault did not reappear, and so replaced the immobiliser

Many thank's fellas, I guess it's round to the stealership, f-------k modern technology, I can't fix it ! I would not wish that on anyone conking out where I did totaly frightening, all those yuppies going to work ! I was in their way ! have fun in what your driving till Blair and his orrible cronies stop ya !
