270 CDi Motor/pump noise ID please

Hi,

Can anyone ID this for me please? I've only got intercooler pipes disconnected waiting for a replacement, reconnected the battery this morning and this started.

The pipes have been off for a few days and it never done this before.

That's a quiet engine, I'm impressed.

I'd prefer it quieter! I have no idea what is in that corner of the car. I expect its because I've got things unplugged but just want to pull the fuse on it so I can lock the car up easily.

Think I've identified it. Air suspension compressor, and that's been knackered for ages dropping frequently.
Could be gross leak and not making any pressure.
