Ive a 1982 280ce automatic, whereas Ive had a lot of old/classic cars, this is my first auto, and first mercedes. Problem is, when in drive and waiting at lights, idling, the revs drops, and the car is wanting to pull away, like as if the clutch was biting on a manual car.
The problem seems worse when the car is 'cold', and isnt as bad after a few miles.
Any answers will be greatly appreciated
thanks

what are your idling revs whenyour car is cold/

it could be the idle revs are set too high and hence the the car wants to move while in drive at the stop lights.

just an after thought-you say this is your first auto car-the car will creep forwards at the traffic lights when you are waiting with the gearbox selector set at d for drive-obviously, you need to keep your right foot on the brake to stop it moving forward.
