Perhaps this post might be better on the brakes/suspension forum but anyway...

got into the car last night (w126). Used it last on Monday for a 60 mile jaunt and whilst it's been running a bit rough (slight missing and lumpy idle), when i started her up last night the ABS light wouldn't go out on and the revs soared to 2000. Can drive it, but even in drive with my foot on the brake it's pushing 1000 revs and it's itching to go. What could this be? Before, the car had always made a short audible groan when moving off, seemed to be from the rear wheel - i was told the owner that this was the car checking the ABS. Doesn;t make this sound now. Might this be related?

I've checked out the OVP fuse and it's fine although I couldn;t get the actual relay out as it is always dark by the time I get home from work, and usually raining too!

I'm not very mechanical either! :(

Thanks in advance folks.

All of your fault point to the OVP relay. you must check that you have 12volt on pins 87. these things get badly dry jointed inside.

Thanks for the advice, seems like it could be an easy fix. Stupid question next however:

The relay itself, does it just pull out from the plug below...? having trouble getting my hands down in there to hold the wires/plug and pull it out; worried i rip the wires out!?
