The car is a 1990 model with 135,000 miles on the clock. She starts easily and idles well when cold but stalls at lights etc when warmed up.
The revs also drop significantly when shifted from Park or Neutral to Drive, but only when at running temperature.
The problem is not evident on a full tank of petrol and gets more pronounced as the tank empties - removing and replacing the fillercap makes no difference.
The problem seems to have started shortly after my wife ran out of petrol, but this could be a red herring.
I would be grateful if anyone has any ideas on how to cure the problem.
