I recently bought a 1986 300sl.  Unfortunately the previous owner replaced the original alloys with a set of Lorinsers.  I'm trying to find a set of original alloys that came with the SL and I've been offered a set of 15 inch alloys from a 1988 190.  They 'look' the same, but even though I'm a mechanical amateur I know that looks can be deceptive.  Are the alloys from the 190 compatible with my car, or will everything drop off the car as soon as I fit them, in the style of a slap-stick comedy?

Can anyone recommend anywhere in the London area that might be able to supply the right alloys?

Thanks

Burak,

Give this guy a call, he's a little out of london in Colnbrook near Slough but he is excellent for both aftermarket and original alloys...

Thanks Greg,

As for the Lorinsers?  Well, if I can replace them with originals I'll try to sell them on.  Failing that I'll use them as plant pots, or an oversized door stop.

They would make excellent coffee tables or foot-stools.

Burak,

Mail me off-line with a pic of the Lorinsers and how much as I might be interested subject to the style and if I can get them refurbed or not...
