Hi fellow users , what a great place especially for people with a strong interest in Mercedes Benz.

I do have one query I have come in possession of an unfinished Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gull wing by a recently deceased grand father ,may he rest in peace.

Hence does anyone know what the value is for an unrestored condition , I know one in good condition is highly coveted and commands figures in excess of 200k but not sure on one that needs restoring.

Most of the work is related to the interior and engine work , also would benefit from a new paint but all parts are complete to my knowledge with full motor history.

I am not sure on this, it maybe that you need a few more post in order to do that.

Please ask the question in the feedback section.

If you do need some post before you can post pictures,, you can always Email them to some one like me and they will put them up for you or ask one of the mods

There is an expert on vintage Mercs who could advise you what to do with the Gullwing if any one can called Talbir who often features in Mercedes Enthusiast. He is regularly posting on this link:

You could post there, or PM him, or try an e-mail? Good luck

Gullwing1.jpg

I feel a tad guilty selling it, and think I will keep it for now as ever since I was small and was aware of the 300 SL gull wing history I hounded my grandfather for it.

So I think it would be disrespectful for the time being to sell it. A big thank you to those who have replied means allot.

Also does anyone know what the value of a modified 1967 230 s fintail with a fitted power steering is valued at , its has a rich history with part racing background and has been looked after meticulously and would be classed as showroom condition with only 90,000 miles on the clock. I am aware that the market price for a standard one is anything from 9-11k for one in such condition ,so I can assume one with a Mercedes bens fitted power steering will add another 2/3k to its original value

for pics on either car please post me your email and ill send one in reply as i have no idea how to post it.
