300 TE 12v camshaft worn.....HELP!!!

Hi

I have a 300 TE with a worn camshaft. The car has done 124k and I want to find out if this is a common fault. It seems to have worn the rockers also. If anybody can point me in the right direction for getting engine parts for it, or can shell any more light onto why it might do this damage; or can inform me of any other faults which I may be likely to have with this car I would appreciate this loads

I'd suspect poor maintenance, missed oil changes, general neglect and/or clocking

Check the service history. Does it add up? Has it really only done 124k or has it been to the moon & back?

A new cam & followers plus fitting might cost the same as the car did...

I concur with Bolide. Suspect bad maintenance/sheer neglect. When you do repair make sure all oil galleries (and there are many involving the camshaft and associated stuff) are thoroughly cleaned out also.
Now if it had been a Peugeot or a Ford..............................
