Hi All,
Just bought my first Mercedes on Saturday (pics on the link below)
http://www.nfhcars.co.uk/showcar.php?id=157&pic=1&indexpage=1
Have only driven it for a few hours, but am amazed at how 'graceful' the old girl is for an 18 year old. The bodywork is as good as the pictures suggest, I can only find rust inside the bonnet along the leading edge on the inside, which looks easily treatable. It is the classic impulse ebay buy, its the first and only one I have seen or driven, but I feel I have a car worth investing in!.
The engine is not quite as rosy a story at the moment, but I strongly suspect that the car has been used very sparingly over the last two years so its clearly in need of a good service, at the very least!. I have already had the benefit of a diagnosis by Mr Ian Walker ( of w124works fame) of certain issues with the rough running, but as this is hopefully a long termer for me, I hope to spread the work over the next year or more.
I Look forward to mining the collective wisdom, and hopefully contributing as I learn more along the way.
Cheers
Simon
